Ferrer fights back to put Spain in driving seat

David Ferrer came back from two sets to one down to defeat Andy Roddick and put Spain just one win away from the 2008 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final.
After a tight first set which Ferrer sneaked on the tiebreak, Roddick took control of the match, easing through the second and third sets with some impressive play but Ferrer hung in and fought back for a popular victory in front of more than 20,000 Spanish fans.
Saturday will see the crucial doubles rubber take place. Mike Bryan and Mardy Fish are due to line-up for USA against Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco for Spain though the pairings can be changed up to an hour before tomorrow’s scheduled start (1500 local time).
